Contracting-out - Contracting-out is the practice of eliminating jobs at an employer's existing worksite(s) and replacing them with contracts for services to be performed by non-employees, who may be individuals or corporations. This is normally done in order to reduce costs, for instance by lowering wages that have been increased by collective bargaining and union representation.
